No, (unfortunately) I have not just joined Fu Manchu, but I am all about “go” as of a few days ago.  After a quiet(ish) January reboot for the Aaron Tap franchise, suddenly I’m finding myself with a hell of a lot going on.  The primary couple of things are mixing the Max Lugavere record and getting revved up to start work on Matt Nathanson‘s follow-up to Some Mad Hope. Max, known to educated viewers as 50% of the face of Current TV (his co-host Jason Silva making up the balance), and I set to work on his debut last fall and the mixes are starting to come back to us and could not sound better!  It’s an exciting, fraught time, but it’s all shaping up perfectly and I’ll be psyched to see the record released later this year.

As that winds to a close, Matt Nathanson is just starting to gun his engines and get to work on his new record.  I expect we’ll be back in the studio very soon for the first round and it’s sure to be an intense time. Can’t wait.

In the meantime, I’m doing more shows with Matt Bunsen and the Burners and will be further getting my twang on with a world tour of Greeley, CO at the end of this month with JD Bernal & his band. Then, of course, it’s off to Carnegie Hall with Matt for the Who tribute show! That is going to be fucking surreal. And finally, I’ll round out March with some shows with Layne’s Laurie Geltman back in the former homeland of Cambridge, MA.

Throughout all this, I’m still working on longer-term writing/production projects with the very talented Matt MacKelcan and Isaac Johnson, and looking forward to working with Danny Rasmussen on his follow-up to Luna.
